As a lawyer, she worked both in government and on Wall Street. As a psychologist, she worked for six years at an outpatient clinic in the Bronx before opening her own practice in 2000.
Ruth integrates mindfulness meditation into all her work. She currently studies and practices meditation with the guidance of Narayan Helen Liebenson of Cambridge Insight Meditation Center (cambridgeinsight.org), and undertakes periodic retreats at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts, to deepen her practice (www.dharma.org). Kenneth Porter, M.D. has also been a deeply influential teacher and guide. Ruth now tries to bring mindfulness to her relationships with her husband of thirty years and her two adult children, as well as to her hobby and original passion, playing the French horn.
